So, I am into Digital Marketing and you all know that already (I think). Hence, for us, it's always the situation of Creativity on Demand. It's like you are having a discussion and suddenly you have to come up with an idea and mind you, your idea has to be different. So, how do you deal with that? Well, here's what I do!

ree

I simply say that I will need some time to think and come up with something really good.

That's about it. It's okay to not blurt out and pollute your thoughts. And it's okay if someone thinks that you are a fool because you aren't talking too much. I have been there, I have had co-workers who would simply not stop speaking because they thought that they knew so much. Maybe they did too but then when you speak a lot, others speak a lot and it becomes an ego-fest in which everyone wants to win and the voice of reason is usually lost in such situations.

However, I can say this because I am still in a very secure position in my career. You may or may not be and hence sharing a few tips that can be handy in such situations.

Another Good Way

You know, I do understand that sometimes it is impossible to not say something, so do this- try and not be the first one to speak unless of course, you have had that euphoric moment of an amazing path breaker. Let the others speak and then build on it, that would make you sound intelligent too.

Negate Your Way

Further, even negate a few things said by others- that will make you sound like a Genius! I mean, there are a lot of people who sound genius just by telling what is wrong and they even get paid for it. So, if the pressure to prove your worth is too much and you aren't getting any good ideas, simply put a BUT.

Go Generic

Nothing beats that. Talk about emotions, that how the audience needs to connect with the product, and how the negative emotions evoke more reactions so we could try and be bold. Or say, how there is so much negativity in the world and we can break the clutter by a positive message, probably do a sprinkle of the below poverty line audience, and their aspirations- things like that!

Did you prepare for CAT?

If yes, then you know your vocabulary will never be put to better use than this situation. Use fancy words, a lot of your audience will be bowled over with that. I am sorry though, for I'll not be able to help here- my vocab isn't as good.

You see, life is funny, we say empty vessels make much noise and yet we cannot live without making that noise ourselves. Creativity is not like some tap that you can open up anytime- unless of course, you are some Picasso or Van-Gogh but even those guys took time and patience so yes!

Anyway, hope this will make you sound intelligent next time.

The better way though would be to be intelligent next time!

Why Insightful Personal Narratives Matter

You know, I’ve always been a sucker for a good story. Not the kind that’s all glitz and glam, but the real, raw, messy kind that makes you nod your head and think, “Hey, I’ve been there too.” There’s
