The Fear and the Boots!

So, I am part of multiple entrepreneur WhatsApp groups and usually, it is all about people doing well or just a random post about hiring. Every once in a while though, people leave the group citing the reason of how they finally decided to hang their boots.

I am not going to say that those are the sorry tales of giving up. I feel that it is something that needs to be respected- an honest effort that, even though couldn’t yield any significant result, was made wholeheartedly.

Not going to lie, those messages scare me. Something inside says that tomorrow, it could be anyone- literally anyone. I mean, Vodafone India had to shut down, Snapdeal lost it at a point- in all this, “well established” becomes such a myth.

It also makes me think about what future do I envisage for Confused Genius-The DA.

Most of the time, my answer is- I am taking it a day at a time. Working on it as a job- every single day, trying to make a difference, taking things seriously, tweaking this metric, continuing with that one and patiently calculating how much money will the firm hold at the end of the month.

One of these days, I also feel that maybe I could scale it up to an extent that it becomes India’s answer to the big marketing firms of the West. After all, if we are the creative people who are running those firms, then why can’t we have one of our own. I get bogged by self-doubt sometimes and think that maybe that is too high a goal but then, we deliver results at pace and I feel, maybe yes, we can!

Maybe if we keep taking pride in our work and give our best most of the days, we will make it.

There is just one thing I feel like saying to my team as well, though I never explicitly mention it I think I would today- there are just two goals that we chase at CG.

One is- the very obvious one- our client earns and grows and

Second- every single day, you do the kind of work that makes you feel proud of yourself.

I feel that if the second is achieved, the first one will happen for sure!
